Corporate Sponsorships

The PTO is in search of investors in tomorrow!

If you have a business or work for a business that has interest and value in partnering with POMS, the PTO has a corporate sponsorship program. Sponsors help by providing financial donations that help continue the strong tradition of excellent education and development of the whole child at our school. In return, the PTO provides avenues of recognition throughout the year: directory advertisements, logo recognition on the website and in Charger Chatter, marketing opportunities at Chargerfest and Auction, recognition on the outdoor LED display and more. Sponsorship run from $500 -$5000.

Giving Tree – New Installations

Newly dedicated “leaves” and “boulders” were installed on the Giving Tree earlier this month. Stop by the school entryway to look for yours or your friends!

If you missed the opportunity this spring to “leave” a lasting impression at POMS, no worries! You can place an order at anytime at: http://pinoakpto.org/pin-oak-tree. (Please note, installation typically occurs once or twice a year.)

We appreciate all those who supported our school with an order. These proceeds help provide funding for teacher grants and student advocacy. Many thanks to Janann Pittman who coordinated the Giving Tree dedications and installations this past school year.

POMS Library End of Year Procedures and Closing

Overdue books
Dear POMS Parents and Students,

Please note that all library materials and borrowed books are DUE BACK to the library by Friday, May 15th. The Library will be closed during the last two weeks of school (Monday, May 18th – Thursday, May 28th), as we prepare for the end of the school year, take inventory of the collection, and collect all materials.

We currently have a large number of books which are overdue and/or students who owe fines for late returns. We are asking students to please be sure and take care of fine payments and to return ALL books before the last day of school. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Coulthard at tcoultha@houstonisd.org.

Library books cannot be checked out over the summer break. The library will be closed during the summer, but we wish you a happy break filled with plenty of reading!

Thank you!

Mrs. Coulthard, Librarian
Mrs. Tennant, Library Clerk

Your Voice: HISD Customer Satisfaction Survey 2015

HISD-Voice-Survey

This year, Houston Independent School District will once again conduct the Your Voice survey – the largest customer satisfaction survey in our history. The confidential third-party survey will be conducted from May 1-30, 2015, and will help us assess how students, parents, community and educators feel about our efforts to make a difference in the education of Houston’s children.

We want to assure you the survey is completely confidential. To ensure your privacy, RDA, a well-respected marketing and research company, will continue to handle all aspects of the survey process, from creation to collection. Completed surveys will be sent directly back to RDA for analysis.

Parents, teachers and campus administrators will be able to complete and return the anonymous survey from May 1-30. Student surveys will be conducted from May 11-30. I hope that you will take this opportunity to give those of us in central administration more information on ways we can support you, as well as use the survey to help with your own campus improvement planning.

Your voice is important to us and we sincerely hope that you will give us your thoughts. Your honest feedback is deeply appreciated.
