  • VOLUNTEERING

Parents at Pin Oak have a variety of ways to contribute to the PTO and school wide events.  To ensure you receive information about activities and events at Pin Oak, as well as the Pin Oak parent newsletter, the PTO uses PTO Manager to manage volunteers and keep you informed.  There are two ways to sign up to receive Pin Oak updates and volunteer for events:

    1) Download and print out the Volunteer Data sheet.  Complete it and place it in the PTO Box in Pin Oak's front office.  Our Volunteer Coordinator's will enter your information into the PTOManager database and you will receive an email from the system to confirm your information and set your password shortly thereafter.

    - OR -

    2) Enroll online in PTOManager.  Registration is quick, easy and free and will ensure you receive updates from the PTO.

If you have any questions about enrolling as a volunteer please contact Mimi Branham or Laurie Tullier for assistance. The PTO Manager will allow us to communicate with parents about volunteer opportunities. Once you are in the system you can make changes as needed.

Please check the boxes on the front page and below for current volunteer positions!! We need everyone of you! We are always looking for parent volunteers and would love to have you on our team!

You need to be registered as a HISD volunteer before you can help. If you are NOT registered as a volunteer, please click here and follow the instructions.

Please download our PIN OAK Volunteer Form and Parent Participation Form for further information.

If you have questions, please contact Mimi Branham.

Opportunities to Volunteer for Upcoming Events

    NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION

New Student Orientation will be held on May 3, 2011 at 6:30 p.m.  If you have a new student who will be attending Pin Oak for the 2011-2012 school year, new student orienation is a must!  This is an opportunity to choose electives, order uniforms, find out about PTO events, buy summer reading books. learn about Charger Camp and much more.  Many volunteers are needed to make this night successful.  Please contact Suzanne Shelby to volunteer or if you need more information.

    MAGNET AWARENESS WEEK

Pin Oak school tours will be scheduled for prospective Magnet students and families during HISD's Magnet Awarenes Week of Nov. 8 - 12, 2010. Magnet Night is scheduled for Nov. 10, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. We will need many volunteers during Magnet Week to help with tours, refreshments and answering questions from prospective families. For more information, please contact Karen Wagner

    8TH GRADE PROMOTION COMMITTEE

The 8th Grade Promotion Committe helps organize and coordinate 8th grade activities.  Several events are planned, mostly for the end of the school year, and include 8th grade graduation, 8th grade dance and 8th grade trip to Schlitterbahn.  Please sing up with PTO Manager to receive information about 8th grade and other school events.  Please contact Ann Nichols for more information.

    HOSPITALITY COMMITEE

Like to bake? Can you pick up a few dozen cookies or brownies and deliver them to Pin Oak for school events?  Then you should sign up to help with Pin Oak's Hospitality committee.  Hospitality helps provide snacks and drinks at different Pin Oak events throughout the year including Charger Camp, New Student Orientation and Magnet Week.  We are in need of volunteers to provide snacks as well as man the snack tables during school events.  The Hospitality committee currently has an open chairperson position.  Please contact Mimi Branham for more information.

The Pin Oak Beautification committee helps maintain the appearance of the school and school grounds beyond what is provided by the school district.  If you are interested in assisting with this committee, please contact Angela Sigmon.
